Afternoon Tea is served

Our year 10 cookery students have been baking up a storm as part of the food preparation and nutrition section of their GCSE course. The class pulled together a beautiful display of both sweet and savoury baking and even produced items that took into account dietary needs such as gluten intolerances.
The afternoon tea party that was organised by year 10 students was attended by a number of our senior leadership team who got to try out their delicious bakes. Not only was it a great way for the students to showcase the range of technical skills but it also allowed them to develop skills in a group situation and carry out sensory analysis of the dishes – all aspects that will help them with their final year of their GCSE starting in September.
