Arrangements for Tour de Yorkshire – Thursday 2nd May 2019
As you may be aware the race is scheduled to pass the school between 3pm and 3.15pm. Whilst we will be operating a normal end to the school day at 3.35pm there may be some disruption to accessing the school due to the event and so the following arrangements have been made:
- All students who walk or cycle home from school either via the Lowfield Lane footpath to Brough or front of school will be able to do so, as normal from 3.35pm
- All contract buses will be on site prior to the race passing the school and so students will be able to access their bus as normal at the end of the day. The only exception to this is the 155 service to Anlaby and then Hull which will aim to access the site as soon as possible after the race has past our site. Clearly if traffic in the surrounding area is congested then there may be some slight delay in students accessing their normal drop off points on their homeward journey
- For those students who are picked up by car at the end of the day staff supervision will be available until 4.15pm in the dining area as congestion on the local roads is likely to cause delays in accessing the site until this time. In view of this we would recommend considering car sharing, walking or delaying your pick up until 3.50pm on this day.
- Please note it is Year 7 (7.01-7.06) Progress Evening on the evening and therefore we ask that all parents/carers do not arrive at school for their appointments any earlier than 4.20pm to allow the school site to clear first.
