Last weekend students from a range of year groups take part in our latest whole school production, High School Musical. Students have been dedicating their time over the last few weeks to rehearsing both during and after school to perfect their performance, all of which paid off on the opening night, Thursday 31 January. The show sees Troy – played by Adam T, Gabriella – played by Leonie P-A and the students of East High deal with issues of first love, friends, and family whilst balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. The whole school production gives us the opportunity to showcase some of the incredible talent we have in our school from singing, to dancing, acting, producing and much more.
Drama Teacher, Mrs Derry said: “I am so proud of all the students involved. It is always a pleasure to work with such diligent, passionate and talented young people! It is so lovely to stand back and watch their confidence grow and see all the new friendships groups emerge.”
Head of School, Mr Williman said: “Many congratulations to the cast of High School Musical for the incredible performances we have seen over the last 3 nights. The theatrical and musical skill on show has been exceptional and testament to the hard work the students have put in to rehearsals and practice. Such a production would not be possible without the time given by the staff and I am immensely grateful to all colleagues who have given their time to support the show. Particular thanks to Miss Johnson, Miss Derry and Mr Firth for their direction and making this another show of which South Hunsley can be right proud. Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you.”
