Jamie Loncaster

Today marks the third year without our much-missed friend Jamie Loncaster.

Our day of remembrance began with the unveiling of a newly installed skateboard memorial bench. During registration, several staff members including Executive Principal, Jonny Uttley and Head of Indus House, Mrs Kirby, joined Jamie’s parents and form group to spend a moment reflecting on the two years that have passed.

At lunchtime, fundraising events took place in Jamie’s memory and all donations will be given to the Jamie Loncaster Fund. The fund was set up by Jamie’s parents and older brother to raise money for the charities that are being supported in his memory; Cardiac Risk in the Young, British Heart Foundation and Yorkshire Ambulance charitable fund.

A charity football match between Sixth Form and Year 11 students, started with a minute’s silence and after an exciting game, the winners were Year 11 with a score of 2-1.

There was lots of creative cakes and delicious buns on offer and a prize up was given to a member of each House that had designed the best ‘Jamie inspired baking’.

As always, our thoughts are with Jamie, his family and friends.
