South Hunsley School is supporting the Hull and East Yorkshire Mind Mental Health Awareness Week (Monday 8 May until Sunday 14 May) to encourage both staff and students to talk about wellbeing and mental health. Our aim is to raise awareness and funds to help support the local community.
During mental health awareness week, all assemblies will focus around mental health and students will receive a wristband which can be personalised with a reminder of how you can improve your own mental health.
On Friday 12 May, the school will host a student ‘Tea and Talk’ event during lunch. Tea, hot chocolate and cakes will be available for students to purchase and there will be an opportunity to talk to our Heads of House who are trained in mental health first aid. There will also be a chance to look through Mind literature and activities. Cakes can be brought in by students and there will be house prizes for the best designed cake focusing around mental health.
Founded in 1976, Hull & East Yorkshire Mind has extensive experience in providing mental health services for people in Hull and East Yorkshire. For more information please visit heymind.org.uk.
