Our year 13 Lowland Expedition Leaders attended a training event in the North Yorkshire Moors over the bank holiday weekend.
Students undertook the training as part of a Sports Leaders UK qualification which they are working towards this academic year. The qualification gives students a chance to develop skills they can use and transfer to other areas of their lives.
Trip Leader, Luke Duerden, said: "All four leaders showed fantastic knowledge and skills in what were very challenging and hot conditions over in the North Yorkshire Moors. As well as camping and walking, students had to cook for themselves and take part in a night navigation activity. All students managed extremely well and prepared themselves very well for the assessment that will take part in July."
