Year 9 Student playing football across Europe

Year 9 Student Jak W started playing football for local Team, Hessle Sporting, when he was just 5 years old, but after showing great skill and determination he is now competing in countries across Europe including Portugal and Norway!

Jak was scouted for Under 9's Leeds United and Hull City and trained at their local development centres until he reached the Under 10's when Scunthorpe United and Leeds United both took an interest in him. He ended up signing with Leeds United Under 11's in 2016 and was only one of three boys in all age groups in the area to achieve this. He took to this next level with great maturity attending Thorpe Arch Training Ground 4 times a week alongside his school work.

Jak now travels the country playing top flight teams throughout the season including the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton and Manchester City. He was even chosen as the captain for the final game of the season at Elland Road as recognition for his hard work and commitment throughout the season. Jak’s success has also seen him compete in a number of countries in Europe. Last month saw him travelling to Norway to take part in the Flint Micasa Cup which his team went on to win and next month he will be travelling to Porto, Portugal with the Under 15/16's team to take part in the Esposende Cup.

Well done Jak, we wish him all the best for his future and can’t wait to celebrate the many successes he undoubtedly has ahead of him!
